Society Information

AACD

The American Association of Clinical Directors was formed in 1988. The purpose of the society is to provide a forum for anesthesiologists whose primary responsibility is operating room management.The AACD offers physicians with an interest in the business aspect of operating room management an opportunity to share ideas with colleagues, meet anesthesiologists who have more experience than they in this area, and share in a common forum for the discussion of problems.

SEA

The Society for Education in Anesthesia is a non-profit educational organization for anesthesiology educators who desire to improve their skills in anesthesia education. SEA is committed to enhancing the skills of the anesthesiology educator, providing updates on new technologies, enhancing the recruitment, training and evaluation of anesthesia trainees, improving medical student rotations in anesthesiology departments, offering meetings for the needs of anesthesia educators and publishing articles on education-related issues.

SAM

The Society for Airway Management (SAM) is an international, multi-specialty organization that provides an interdisciplinary forum for physicians and others interested in clinical airway management. Members are engaged in anesthesiology, emergency medicine, pulmonology, trauma care, head and neck surgery, EMT/paramedic care, and hail from two dozen countries all over the globe.

OAPRS

The Orthopaedic Anesthesia, Pain and Rehabilitation Society (OAPRS) is a new organization dedicated to a multidisciplinary approach to patients undergoing orthopedic surgery. The mission of the society is to promote orthopedic anesthesia, pain management, and rehabilitation as a subspecialty and to establish and promote best clinical practice guidelines. This will be achieved through education including the development of an orthopedic anesthesia fellowship, research, and the establishment of best clinical practice guidelines. OAPRS membership is open to any anesthesiologists, orthopedic surgeons, physiatrists, and corresponding residents and fellows involved and/or interested in the management of orthopedic patients.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL OF CLINICAL ANESTHESIA

The Journal of Clinical Anesthesia (JCA) addresses all aspects of anesthesia practice, including anesthetic administration, pharmacokinetics, preoperative and postoperative considerations, coexisting disease and other complicating factors, cost issues, and similar concerns anesthesiologists contend with daily. Exceptionally high standards of presentation and accuracy are maintained.


The Journal of Clinical Anesthesia is published by Elsevier for the American Association of Clinical Directors and the Society for Education in Anesthesia.

ATTENTION ANESTHESIA EDUCATORS

JCA is now affiliated with the Society for Education in Anesthesia (SEA) and includes a special section featuring articles sponsored by the SEA's Journal of Education in Perioperative Medicine. Anesthesia Educators publish on-line in JEPM (jepmadmin.org).
