To provide a forum for the presentation of basic research, advances in clinical practice and the results of surgical procedures pertaining to the knee joint.
To encourage and support research, audit and teaching in relation to knee surgery.
To give advice where appropriate in matters relating to knee surgery.
To represent the interests of the Members and Associates where appropriate in matters relating to knee surgery.
To maintain the link between knee surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association via the Board of Specialist Societies.
To encourage collaboration with other organizations in order to further the educational objectives of the Association.
ABOUT THE KNEE
The Knee is an international journal publishing studies on the clinical treatment and fundamental biomechanical characteristics of this joint. The aim of the journal is to provide a vehicle relevant to surgeons, biomedical engineers, imaging specialists, materials scientists, rehabilitation personnel and all those with an interest in the knee.
The topics covered include, but are not limited to:
anatomy, physiology, morphology and biochemistry;
biomechanical studies;
advances in the development of prosthetic, orthotic and augmentation devices;
imaging and diagnostic techniques;
pathology;
trauma;
surgery;
rehabilitation.
The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, case reports and short communications. In addition, the regular content includes letters to the Editor, book reviews and a conference calendar.
