The e-SPEN, The European e-Journal of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism, to be known as the e-SPEN Journal, is a new electronic-only companion publication to Clinical Nutrition, the official journal of The European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN). e-SPEN Journal will be available to all members of ESPEN and to all subscribers to Clinical Nutrition. Published bimonthly, the e-SPEN Journal will focus on publishing articles which address the educational aspects of nutritional and metabolic care and the relationship between nutrition and disease in the setting of basic science and clinical practice. The journal will also publish papers which have not met the criteria required for publication in Clinical Nutrition, but nevertheless have an important message to convey to the readers. Authors should continue to submit papers to Clinical Nutrition but will be advised by the Editorial Office if their paper has been recommended for acceptance in the e-SPEN Journal. In this case, the author will then have the choice whether to proceed with publishing their paper in the e-SPEN Journal.
