Journal of Pediatric Surgery - CME Program

About CME

The American Pediatric Surgical Association (APSA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. As such, APSA is required to meet the ACCME's expectations for our practice of continuing medical education.

It is the policy of APSA to ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all of its educational activities. Faculty and authors in the Journal CME Program must comply with all procedures governing disclosure. APSA has implemented a process where everyone in a position to control the content of an educational activity will present evidence-based content, disclose all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest and discussion of unlabeled/investigational uses of a commercial product. In addition, educational materials must be free of commercial bias and any information regarding commercial products/services must be based on scientific methods generally accepted by the medical community. Conflicts will be resolved prior to this educational activity.

Faculty and authors who refuse to disclose relevant financial relationships and discussion of unlabeled/investigational uses of a commercial product will be disqualified from being a part of the planning and implementation of this CME activity. Any of the relationships mentioned above are required to be disclosed to the audience on this Web site.

APSA designates this Journal-based CME activity for either (physician may select one use only):

  • AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Physicians may claim one (1) CME credit for each question answered.

  • OR
  • AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for Part 2 of the American Board of Surgery Maintenance of Certification, Life Long Learning and Self-Assessment. Physicians may claim one (1) CME credit for each question answered.
