The American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and its Foundation sponsor continuing medical education, professional meetings, new scientific research, and practice management guidance for more than 13,000 ear, nose, and throat specialists in the United States and abroad. The Academy also monitors all federal medical-related legislation and educates legislators and policy makers about the needs and concerns of otolaryngologists.

The American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy (AAOA) was founded in 1941, and is one of the oldest and most experienced organizations in dealing with issues relating to allergic disorders. As a professional association, the AAOA represents over 2000 Board certified otolaryngologists and other health care providers who devote part of their practice to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic and other related disorders. As otolaryngologists, members have a unique expertise in the medical and surgical treatment of sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, and related disorders.

ABOUT THE JOURNAL

Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery is the official peer-reviewed publication of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy. The mission of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery is to publish contemporary, ethical, clinically relevant information in otolaryngology, head and neck surgery (ear, nose, throat, head, and neck disorders) that can be used by otolaryngologists, clinicians, scientists, and specialists to improve patient care and public health.


Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery is published by Elsevier for the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Foundation, Inc. and the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy.
